Terms and Conditions

The contract between the *Pupil and GowithGer driving school is subject to the following conditions:

1a) The pupil certifies that a valid suitable licence is held to drive the tuition vehicle.  Pupils must inform their instructor immediately if they receive any endorsements on their licence during the period they are receiving tuition. 1b) The pupil must be fit to drive and have no medical conditions that compromise their ability to control the car, if Spectacles have been prescribed then they or Contact Lenses must be worn at all times while driving the car.1c) The instructor is at liberty to refuse to proceed with a lesson if he/she has reason to believe that the pupil is in any way under the influence of drink or drugs at the time of the lesson.

2a) The instructor will provide the pupil with driving tuition at the rate per lesson which has been agreed with them on their first lesson. 2b) Any special offers or introductory rates will only apply to the first lessons and will have been pre-paid in advance. After the initial pre-paid lessons have been used the standard PAYL or Block Booking prices will apply. 2c) Payment for tuition may be made a week in advance by Cheque or to the instructor at the beginning of each lesson by Cash or Barclays Pingit. Cheques incur a £1.50 processing charge and must clear before the lesson takes place. Unpaid cheques will incur a £30.00 administration fee.2d) Pre paid lessons/Block Bookings are non-refundable.

3a) Matters concerning the timing, duration and location of individual lessons are subject to agreement between the pupil and the instructor. 3b) All Driving Lessons must commence/finish on times agreed between pupil and driving instructor. If the pupil is late for his/her lesson for any reason, the time will still be chargeable.  If the driving instructor is late, the time will be added on at the end of the lesson or at another time suitable for the pupil.3c) In the event of mechanical breakdown or other difficulty outside the control of the instructor, the instructor reserves the right to rearrange lessons at short notice. 3d) The pupil may only make lesson cancellations directly with the instructor. 72 hours’ notice must be given, otherwise the pupil will be liable for 50% tuition fee, if 24 hours or less notice is given or no notice is given then 100% of the planned lesson will be charged, which will either be deducted from the pre-paid allowance or paid before the next lesson commences. 3e) in exceptional circumstances the instructor may use their discretion and waiver 3d

4a) GowithGer will book the Practical Test on your behalf as soon as you pass your theory test in anticipation of you being ready for the practical driving test however you will only be required to pay the instructor the DVSA Test Fee (Currently £62) at the point that the Instructor and the Pupil agree they are ready for the Test. You will only pay the standard DVSA test fee at confirmation of date 4b) On the day of the test you will be required to pay the instructor for a minimum 2 hours of lessons which will include approximately 45 minutes of pre-test instruction including the drive to the test centre, the use of the vehicle during the practical test and a lift home after the test  4c) The instructor reserves the right to refuse the use of the driving school car for the practical test if in the instructors professional opinion the pupil has not reached a sufficient standard of competence to take full responsibility for the safety of the driving school car and other road users. IE the instructor believes the pupil is not test ready or (1a,b or c) apply

5) The Special Offer 4@£79 5b) Lessons are of 2 hour duration subject to availability and only available to those taking lessons within 3 miles of the SA126DNand to only complete beginners IE those that have never had a driving lesson or driven before.  Our normal Lessons are 2 or 1.5 Hours if mutually agreeable in the Port Talbot Area 5c) Full payment of the lessons must be made at the time of booking with Cash, Cheque, Paypal, Bank Transfer or Barclay’s Pingit and payment must be cleared before lessons commence. 5d) The 4 for £79 Lesson offers are only available to pupils who have no driving lessons or driving experience at all and only available to pupils who get collected for the lesson within 3 miles of the SA126DN area. 5f) All other lessons will be charged in accordance with our standard pricing structure. 5g) You have the right to cancel your lessons in accordance (3d). 5h) All offers are subject to availability 5i) Pupils may take one of the offer prices only, thereafter normal rates apply to all pupils.

6) Data Protection

Reasons/purposes for processing informationWe process personal information to enable us to provide education and training to our customers; to promote our services, to maintain our own accounts and records and to support and manage our employees.Type/classes of information processedWe process information relevant to the above reasons/purposes. This may include:

  • personal details
  • training details
  • goods and services
  • marketing online and on social media

We also process sensitive classes of information that may include:

  • Driving license details
  • date of your theory and practical pass (including a pass photo if you consent to photo being taken)

Who the information is processed about

We process personal information about:

  • pupils
  • complainants, enquirers

Who the information may be shared with

We sometimes need to share the personal information we process with the individual themself and also with other organisations. Where this is necessary we are required to comply with all aspects of the Data Protection Act (DPA). What follows is a description of the types of organisations we may need to share some of the personal information we process with for one or more reasons.

Where necessary or required we share information with:

  • the DVSA
  • family, associates and representatives of the person whose personal data we are process
  • suppliers and service providers
  • persons making an enquiry or complaint
  • central government

Deletion of personal information

we will delete your personal details automatically after 24 months has elapsed since your last contact with us, typically after passing your test or your last lesson. Pass photos will remain online and social media indefinitely unless you request removal. If lessons never actually took place your details will be deleted on the 1st January annually.

* If the pupil is under 18 years of age then the contract is between the pupils Parent or Guardian and GowithGer Driving School. Acceptance of this contract is assumed once lessons have begun.
